Carter Harris' CAD Portfolio
Hello! My name is Carter Harris, and I'm a freshman at Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts. During high school, I took Computer Aided Design and Computer Integrated Manufacturing through the South & West Washtenaw Consortium. Through these classes, I've gained an extensive knowledge of 3D solid modeling, assemblies, creating technical drawings, 3D printing, and creating toolpaths to manufacture various parts. This has allowed me to compete and take both a state & national title at SkillsUSA for Technical Drafting. This summer, I will also be competition at the national level in Automated Manufacturing Technology at SkillsUSA.
Besides CAD, I have also taken a number of classes with Project Lead the Way, including Principles of Engineering and Digital Electronics, alongside AP classes English Language, Chemistry, Government, and Calculus BC.
I'm also involved in FIRST Robotics, having competed and volunteered in FTC and FRC, where I am the current team captain of team 5066 and a FIRST in Michigan Control Systems Advisor and assistant Event Coordinator. I am one of 12 2021 Dean's List Finalists from all FIRST students in Michigan. Additionally, I'm a volunteer and Student Representative on the Board of Directors at Saline Area Social Services.
